Construction Fabrics

TAL has developed high strength durable OASIS SAF® fabrics that can be incorporated into new and existing buildings, to offer long term fire protection system enhancement. The fabrics are water charged as part of an emergency response such that the walls incorporating the fabric remain heat transfer resistant, thus diminishing residual fire damage.

Geo-Absorbent Membranes

As part of its durable fabrics development programme, Technical Absorbents Ltd has developed new OASIS SAF® composite fabric technologies that offer the potential for sustained ground water management, when buried within soil. An exciting example of the potential for this exciting new technology is in the deliverance of efficient water retention and delivery control for golf course construction, in areas of limited water availability. Such water management enhancement can be extended to all areas where limited water availability currently impacts on the ability to produce high quality grass. Such use of the TAL Geo-Absorbent Membrane technology, results in a significantly reduced water demand for the optimal maintenance of professional golf courses.

Protective Apparel

New fabric technologies for fire prevention and personnel protection, in which the OASIS SAF® fabrics offer a significant enhancement to traditional flame retardant and ballistic materials in apparel goods. The fabrics offer both coolant and sweat control enhancements in personal body protective apparel.

Flood Protection

OASIS SAF® containing materials have been developed for the flood protection industry. Examples of this existing technology solution to the ever increasing problems of providing effective flood defense mechanisms include:

• Door and window seals that can immediately on contact with water, form a water tight barrier which prevents any ingress of flood water from outside to inside.
• Air brick blocks that plug easily into existing airbricks which on contact with water immediately swell and block water ingress. Can easily be removed when dry.
• Absorbent mats that can instantly absorb tens of litres of flood water per square metre, to provide a truly unique aid to minimising water ingress into a property, particularly in circumstances of flash flooding.
