Through the development of novel and unique fabric constructions using the OASIS SAF® technology, enhanced liquid filter design and performance has been made possible. Optimisation of the control of filter absorbency, liquid blocking, efficacy and durability are all possibilities.

OASIS SAF® based liquid filtration technology is used today in Jet Fuel filtration, as the absorbent of choice in jet fuel monitors. The safety and overall performance of an aircraft is very much dependent on the quality of the fuel used. Free water suspended in fuel needs to be captured and removed as it leads to corrosion and mechanical dysfunctions within the engine of the aircraft.

At the heart of jet fuel monitors is a polyester (PET) / super absorbent fibre (OASIS SAF®) nonwoven material, which absorbs free and emulsified water, removes ultra-fine solids and gives a system flow shut down when presented with a localised slug of water. As OASIS SAF® is used to absorb the water instead of super absorbent granules, superior integrity of the filter medium and retention of super absorbent polymer within filter is achieved.

This system represents a most efficient, simplified and cost-effective option, for the design of advanced high performance fuel filter monitors delivering significant improvements in overall filtration performance and resultant fuel quality.
