Coolant Technology
By simply soaking the OASIS SAF® coolant fabric in water, activates the cooling process. An optimal and finite amount of water is evenly absorbed, distributed and held within the fabric by the OASIS SAF®, and so prevents dripping and the core becoming over saturated or soggy. The composite fabric structure is designed to distribute and surround the water charged OASIS SAF® with air, creating the ideal environment for evaporation. The breathable outer shell fabric of the three layer composite cooling fabric promotes fast drying and moisture transfer. The inner thermally conductive liner promotes the escape of body heat, exchanging the heat for soothing, cooling comfort whilst acting as a membrane to keep all of the moisture inside the core and stop the inner liner from feeling damp or wet. Application of the Coolant Technology As water evaporates from a surface, heat is absorbed in order to change the liquid to vapor. And because of the large heat of vaporisation of water, evaporation from a liquid surface is an extremely effective natural cooling mechanism. Once the OASIS “COOLbreeze” Cooling Caps are activated, heat passes directly from the head through the inner lining and into the OASIS SAF® fabric driven by the difference in temperature between the body and the cooling cap. The OASIS SAF® coolant fabric can be used to provide a coolant effect in a wide range of clothing and personnel protective wear. |
